COMPOSITES:

Dental Composite are high esthetic restorative material used in Modern Dentistry. It has a micro-mechanic property that makes composite more effective for filling small cavities where amalgam fillings are not as effective and could therefore fall out (due to the macro-mechanic property of amalgam).

COMPOSITION OF COMPOSITE:

1. Matrix : A highly cross-linked polymeric resin matrix reinforced by a dispersion of glass , silica , crystalline.

2. Filler: Metal Oxide or resin -reinforcing filler particles or their combinations and short fibers.

3. Coupling Agents : Bonded to the matrix by silane coupling agents.
