INDICATION - 

• Used to determine the most desirable path of placement and removal for a removable partial denture.
• To identify the proximal tooth surfaces that are needed to be made.
• To measure and locate areas of the teeth that may be used for retention.
• To determine tooth or bony areas of interference will need to be eliminated surgically or by selecting a different path of placement.
• To determine the most suitable path of the placement that will permit locating retainers and artificial teeth to be the best aesthetic advantage. 
• To permit accurate mouth preparation to be made to eliminate dental and osseous counter.
