Application Area:

GapSeal is ideal for the sealing of capillary gaps and hollow spaces of all composed implants. It should be used from the very beginning, i.e. immediately after fitting of the implant when screwing in the locking screw so that the implant is already protected during the healing phase. It is recommended to use GapSeal again abundantly for each further opening of the implant, e.g. prior to screwing a healing cap, an impression pillar or an abutment. If possible, implants having an easy to remove superstructure should be filled during recalls and preventive check-ups.

Composition: Highly viscous silicone matrix with thymole.

Characteristics:

GapSeal guarantees a sealing of the gaps and hollow spaces of implants thus avoiding auto- as well as re-infections by possible germ accumulation in the implant. It is free from antibiotics that are anyway of minor therapeutic value in such small quantities, but rather abet the resistance building. GapSeal remains durably viscous and can be removed (alcohol). A negative effect on materials and tissue is not known. The indication is especially given for screwed supra-structures because of the gaps and threads, however, it is also recommendable for cemented works, as the cement is also attacked by bacteria and germs can penetrate the interior of the implants. Furthermore, GapSeal facilitates the handling of small screws (locking or set screws for the screwing of supra-structures) as small screws can be fixed to the screwdriver, placed and screwed in safely due to the highly viscous material.
