Dental Casting Nickel-Chromium Alloy, Used for Fabrication of Inlays and Onlays

Nickel–chromium alloys have been used for dental prostheses because of their properties and low prices. Casting technique is frequently used to obtain prostheses using Ni–Cr alloys. Chromium is commonly used to form a barrier, such that microstructures containing a Cr-rich oxide layer prevent the release of Ni ion from alloys.

Nickel–chromium alloy is easy melting for reliable casting. This alloy have minimal casting shrinkage due to excellent biocompatibility to oral cavity.
